My parents are first generation immigrants. Over forty years ago, my father made a bold choice and came to the US with a few bucks in his pocket and a plane ticket. He decided he wanted a better life for himself and his future family. Similar to millions of others, he worked hard, learned the language and eventually qualified and applied for citizenship.
During that process, he was asked to study, review and accept the demands of a law-abiding U.S. citizen. After various interviews, inquires and a waiting period, he was approved to become a U.S. Citizen. As condition of accepting this new citizenship, he was asked to renounce his previous citizenship and abide under a new rule of law.
After repeating the oath and pledging allegiance to the U.S., he now has all of the rights, privileges and responsibilities that come with being a U.S. citizen.
When we accepted Christ, God granted us citizenship into his kingdom. Even more than that, our citizenship came with a heavy price. When there was no other way for us to be granted citizenship into His kingdom,
