Today there are countless incidences where women are starting to call men out publicly for abusing their position and authority to take advantage of women. Both personally and professionally. In today’s world there is a crazy amount of discourse and arguments relating to women’s and men’s rights. The world has decided to prioritize one over the other. These are extremes. For decades there’s been a battle of who will win. Who’s right?
The problem with this perspective, they’re both incorrect. One is not better than the other. One should not be more important than the other. Rather, we need to focus on the strengths and weaknesses of each. We need to recognize and embrace that men and women are different. God, in his providence and wisdom, created us differently to complement each other, not dominate over each other.
A recent study revealed women aren’t looking for men who invest all their energy in trying to prove how strong, manly, masculine, macho, or heroic they are. What they really want is a man who is willing to meet them where they are and treat them fairly and equitably. This followed by the desire to also keep the romantic sparks burning. Notice the order of priorities. Women want to first be understood, then cared for and finally intimate. Men’s default is usually the other way around. We want the intimacy first, then provide for them and finally care and love them. Men, we need to rearrange our approach. A real man will first love and care for a woman the way Christ cared for the church.
