How to avoid the trap of temptation and survive.
As these two survivalists debated, one of them decided that the best way to catch mice from this mouse-infested shack was to create a trap. After all, this show’s premise is about surviving; now, eating mice was the only viable option. With that, they set off and planned how they would accomplish the mission.
After some deliberation, they decided they would catch mice by smoking them out of the shack and then funnel them into a trap. The first man would create “smoke” bombs while the other guy built the trap. The plan called for them to draw the mice through a small door opening and then catch them at the other end with a wire mesh.
After successfully tossing some “smoke” bombs into the shack, the other guy secured the only seemingly available exit with a wire-like trap. Then, as the shack filled with smoke, they waited patiently to see if their plan would work.
Finally, after a few minutes, a couple of mice started walking out through the opening and into the wire basket. The mice were trapped with nowhere to go, and their fate was sealed. Afterward, the men started a fire and feasted on their hunt.
Although not a great example of a culinary meal, this story shows how many view temptation in their life. Many erroneously believe that they have no way out when temptation comes and are doomed. The truth, however, is that God always provides a way out.
Unfortunately for the mice that got trapped, they chose the wrong path, while the other mice survived by finding another way out. Let’s learn from the survivors. There’s always a way to avoid the trap of temptation and survive. It’s just a matter of looking in the right place. That place is in God’s word and prayer.

1 Corinthians 10:12-13
Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
