Once we become a believer we become a new creation. This means we get a new perspective and can now be effective for the work of the Lord. Unfortunately, this also means we fight against our flesh. We still need to battle the desires of the flesh that are contrary to the spirit. As Christian we’re taught salvation by grace. God’s abundant grace to save and restore what we know. As a result of our new life we are called to love, and love abundantly.
How can we love abundantly?
However, living in the age of grace we forget that God is righteous. Many of us go on living a life of sin because we don’t consider the consequences of our actions. We take for granted the holiness and righteousness of God. John 15:10 Jesus reminds us that we must obey his commandments so that we may fulfill our calling to love one another. He modeled this for us so that we could live the same way. One of the reasons is so the overflow of this love reaches others.
We’re to be like a cup. Jesus pours his love into us so that we may then pour out unto others. Sin is like a a lid. It stops God’s love from pouring into us and in turn into others. We must confess our sins daily ( Acts 3:19 ) so that we may rip off that lid and be useful for His kingdom. This is an honor, a calling, our mission.

We have been made new in Christ, the old has passed (2 Corinthians 5:17). Start living like it.
