Part of the requirement for becoming an FX3 Warrior is to stay engaged in the community for support and accountability. This requirement entails joining a weekly small group.
The reason is that the process by which God uses the church to make disciples is through that gathering of believers or, better stated, small groups. Although the idea behind “small groups” is not new, think about Jesus and his inner circle; today, “small groups” is more closely associated with connecting people beyond the Sunday service as a solution to church growth. Lifeway.com defines small groups as “A micro-community of 3 to 12 Jesus followers doing the Christian life deeply together.”
According to this definition, small groups resemble the early church and the avenue by which the church fulfills its mission. Expanding on this philosophy, many in the church say that the purpose of small groups is for individuals to “do life together” or “study God’s word.” However, according to Matthew 28:19-20, small groups or gatherings as a group of believers have a greater purpose than just “doing life together” or “studying God’s word.” Matthew 28:19-20 states, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
In essence, disciples that make disciples.
With this in mind, every small group is autonomous with the freedom to select the study that best fits their group’s needs. However, we also provide recommendations and any available resources the church has to offer such as the Message Based Studies, RightNow Media, SmallGroup.com, and other resources.
We believe Small Groups are essential for life transformation. For this reason, we require all FX3 Warriors to join or start a small group. Also, we provide a structured training program for every FX3 Small group leader before launching to improve a successful outcome.
Every FX3 Small group adheres to three fundamental principles that ensure leaders and members grow in their spiritual and personal lives. One of the most critical aspects of small groups is the relationship that develops and strengthens over time. Below is a current list of approved churches and available groups.
