The FX3 Prison Ministry

After witnessing the powerful transformative stories of the FX3 Challenge in local churches, our founder, Carlos, was approached by a local church leader to encourage the ministry to offer the FX3 Challenge to inmates in Miami, FL. After much prayer and consideration, Carlos recruited a handful of men who were passionate about prison ministry. Additionally, they raised support from fellow brothers to purchase FX3 study materials and supplies at no cost to the institution or inmates.

Today, the FX3 Prison Ministry initiative has graduated over 60 inmates from the FX3 Challenge this past year and is on track to graduate 100 in 2025. This twelve-week program profoundly benefits both the inmates and the prison community as a whole. Additionally, inmates’ families are witnessing the changes and celebrating their newfound identity in Christ.
Every week, volunteers and the founder provide spiritual guidance, emotional support, and a sense of hope to incarcerated men, helping them to rehabilitate and find purpose in Christ.

The FX3 Challenge’s faith-based mentorship approach encourages personal transformation, accountability, and improved decision-making, often reducing recidivism rates and improving living conditions. Most importantly, the men are helping to fulfill the Great Commission by sharing the gospel. Volunteers also live out their mission of compassion and service, creating meaningful connections and building a more supportive, inclusive community that believes in redemption and second chances, just as Christ did for us all.

How it Works

The FX3 Challenge

Every volunteer is screened and trained before entering the correctional facilities. Training and clearance take between 6-8 weeks. Afterward, volunteers sign up to volunteer weekly for twelve weeks. During that time volunteers host and lead FX3 Challenge groups once a week in prison for about two hours. During these sessions, participants unpack the reading and weekly study. Participants also dive deeper, discussing the topic and exploring questions one-on-one.

Additionally, inmates are partnered with one another as part of the “Battle Bud” system of accountability. The Battle Bud system pairs up these men who check in, pray over, and encourage each other as part of an accountability system throughout the Challenge.

Inmates also receive reading materials, study guides, certificates of completion, and a celebratory graduation ceremony. Afterward, those on a release program are encouraged to connect with the ministry for assistance with reintegration, mentorship, a community, and resources
