Over the past couple of weeks I’d been feeling somewhat disconnected to God. My life was a hectic mess of busyness. Kids sports, work, parties, commitments, home chores, repairs, etc. It was non-stop for many weeks. Throughout the busyness my prayer life and reading life became anemic. The led to me not “feeling” God as much as in the past.
To reset, I took a media fast and disconnected for a couple of days. This along with focusing intently on reading, meditation on his word and prayer. One of my petitions was wanting to “feel” God more. True to God’s nature and word, he answered my prayer but not as I thought.
As I watched the sunrise over the ocean I noticed a faint star shinning in the sky. Next to it was a crescent moon still shinning through as the sun came up. In this He revealed to me something profound. God showed me that He is always there. Sometimes he’s visible and sometimes not. Just like I couldn’t see the complete moon behind earths shadow, so too I would sometimes not “see” him fully but would be assured he was always there.
The very next day I was promoted to return to the same spot. This time however, the star was still in the same place but I could no longer see the moon. It was now fully eclipsed by earth’s shadow. This was confirmation of what I experienced the day before. The position of the moon and the earth had not changed. What changed was my perspective. All else remained there whether I saw it or not. In this I felt and realized I should always need deliberate remind myself and believe in His promise he is always there for me.
Have confidence and believe in Him when he says he will be with us until the end of the age Matthew 28:20 .
What helps remind you that Christ never leaves us and is with you always?
